With commercial airlines charging higher rates and fees for just about everything these days, we are beginning to see a bit of a compromise as new federal airline passenger rules go into effect. There is still a long way to go, and for those that are still not satisfied, there is always an alternative.
Commercial airliners seem to all have the same goals in mind as they continue to cash in, while their customers feel the pressure of higher ticket prices in a trying economic period, giving no relief to the people who keep them in business as they reap the benefits. Executive jet charter is an alternate means to travel, giving you another way to put your hard-earned money to good use, getting you the best possible, customizable travel options, all depending on your personal preference.
The commercial airlines are starting to finally improve their services, partly thanks to groups like FlyerRights.org, a group that has battled for over a year to get the airlines to budge on their policies and fees, making it better for the consumers. One big change is that passengers that get bumped from their flights will now receive a boost in compensation for the inconvenience.
Another change that will make things easier is that tarmac delays for international flights will be reduced, after the Bureau of Transportation Statistics reported that more than 268 flights were delayed between three and twelve hours in June of 2009. The last major change that is now being implemented is that extra baggage fees will now be refunded to passengers whose luggage have been lost or misplaced by the airline. Though it seems like common sense, most airlines did not provide refunds in the past, leaving a negative impact on their customer relations and costing them much in terms of return business.
These are all steps in the right direction, but there is a lot more on the table and a lot more at stake that still needs to be addressed. For those that don’t want to feed in to the commercial airlines’ games, or avoid the frustrations all together, you can always charter a private jet and travel your way, taking control of the specifics of your flight and creating a more comfortable and enjoyable experience.
Change is coming and the people have made it clear that they are not happy with how the airlines are treating their customers, but there are things you can do to make a difference; explore your options and make sure that you have all the facts before giving in and letting the commercial airlines come out even more ahead than they already have.
